The Company Seeks the Services of a Senior Engineer – Instrumentation x1

Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Perform troubleshooting that may arise from control system equipment failure or software modifications.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing the installation of new and retrofit control systems using SIEMENS PLC Controllers and I / O of this a system.
  • Act as first responder to control room operation related problems.
  • Assist in scoping, coordinating and executing the design, development, documentation of advance control systems, DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA program code.
  • Assist in coordinating and executing the performance testing of operating systems, electrical or electronic communication systems and inspection of equipment to detect potential defects.
  • Ensure to update and perform SCADA development and changes.
  • Configure system hardware, software and SCADA to match field related modifications.
  • Understand the control philosophy of the process plant.
  • Adhere to site DCS standards and good practices.
  • Provide technical direction and support to trainees.
  • Perform standby duties as required.
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics or related qualification.
  • Registered member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automated control systems, complex software suites, analog and digital control systems, and instruments for data recording and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of digital electronics.
  • Excellent knowledge of Siemens PCS7, Siemens TIA and Step 7.
  • General knowledge in Advance Control Systems
  • Knowledge for new control system installations and control system upgrades will be added advantage.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and corporate objectives.
