Job Description

Purpose

To safely execute maintenance and installation work according to prescribed standards and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Adherence to Policies and Regulations

  • Adhere to all pertinent requirements, policies, procedures, and legal requirements pertaining to health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as any other regulations as necessary by the company and relevant to the role and responsibilities.

Safety and Procedures

  • Develop standard safe working procedures and actively participate in HSE initiatives.
  • Ensure employees work in compliance with H&S (e.g., isolation, lockout, and tag out), quality, and environmental standards and procedures.
  • Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Maintenance and Performance

  • Ensure the use of best practice maintenance techniques and procedures for the maintenance and optimum performance of the grinding and associated equipment.
  • In coordination with field supervisors, conduct daily corrective actions through formal workplace inspections.
  • Oversee the execution of maintenance plans for the milling area using appropriate diagnostic techniques developed through extensive knowledge of the process plant and equipment.
  • Manage the database of maintenance activities and work performed.
  • Systematically develop methods, materials, tools, and parts to minimise downtime.
  • Provide technical and managerial support for the milling area maintenance personnel daily to maximise production and efficiencies and optimise costs.

Equipment and Evaluation

  • Evaluate the performance of equipment to identify and initiate development opportunities.
  • Enforce housekeeping standards in all designated work areas.

  • Promote a positive employee environment, ensuring the continuation of a solid working relationship with all employees.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or related Trade Certificate.
  • EIZ & ERB Membership/Registration.
  • Training and courses in safety and environment.
  • Excellent leadership, motivational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance process improvement and control strategies. Certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of PRONTO or other enterprise systems (CMMS training).
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Valid LV driver’s licence.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in the maintenance operations of a circuit and associated areas.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience in large concentrator plants and/or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of concentrator plant equipment in the assigned area (gyratory crushers, conveyor belts, apron feeders, cone crushers, SAG and ball mills, slurry pumps, cyclones, flotation cells, thickeners, agitator tanks, etc.).
  • Working with the highest safety and environmental standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and piping drawings.
