Job Title: Deputy Manager – Liaison & Pay Point Relations
Reports to: Manager – Liaison & Pay Point Relations
Location: Kitwe, Zambia

Job Purpose & Scope:

The Deputy Liaison Manager assists the Manager for the accountability of growth and
sustainability of Stop Order business by ensuring efficient premium billing, lodgements and
collections; Administration for pay point contracts, relationship management and aiding
agency business development activities, and optimisation of cross-function relationships with
corporate business units for enhance collaborations; Analysis and provision of function’s
management information.

Principal Accountabilities:

â–ª To develop and maintain good relationships at pay points and to be the main interface
person between the Company (PLAZ) and all the pay points.
â–ª To be responsible for all Retail business premium collections and to ensure that all
premiums are received into the Company, accurately, recorded on time and
collection data shared with Premium Administration promptly.
â–ª To ensure that all new business lodging inputs are prepared in the appropriate
formats as agreed with the pay-points and lodged on Payrolls within the set cut off
dates in collaboration with the New Business unit.
â–ª Optimise conversion of new business, track inceptions and pro-actively develop
mechanisms to grow business penetration levels in the existing pay points.
â–ª To develop new Individual Life market opportunities by negotiating and opening of
new pay points and set up the new Stop – Order contracts including on-boarding
and set up.
â–ª To maintain vital information for each pay point that is necessary to the Individual Life
operations such as contact persons, Payroll closure dates, Pay roll and remittance
codes etc.
â–ª To be responsible for maintaining close contact with Pay points and ensure that the
Prudential Brand image is well maintained in order to improve the level of business
at each Pay point.
â–ª Promote the automation/digitization of lodgements and premium collections where
possible.
â–ª Assist in development of clear pay point opening and administration guidelines.
â–ª Assisting in managing the activities of the Liaison Officers to ensure that relationships
with the Pay points are well maintained and that all their lodgings and collection
transactions are processed in a timely manner.
â–ª Analysis and preparation of Management reports and other vital statistics for
business (Lodgement Feedback, Inceptions/conversion reports, collection statistics,
pay point performance etc.).
â–ª Any other duties as assigned by direct supervisor and Management.

and other stakeholders;

levels in the organization;
â–ª Organized and able to complete tasks timely, proactively and with own initiative;
â–ª Ability to positively influence Senior and Executive Management
â–ª Must poses a driving license with not less than two years proven competency
â–ª High standards of honesty and integrity
â–ª Understanding of product and distribution specifically with reference to the insurance
industry and PLAZ
â–ª Analytical approach to data and information for decision-making
â–ª Stay appropriately networked and keep abreast of trends, news, events and
deadlines, so that new or enhanced opportunities for business development can be
exploited.

Experience, Qualifications & Knowledge

• Degree in Insurance, Business, Social Science, Public Relations or Professional
insurance qualification in CII, ACA, DIS or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in individual life insurance or corporate relationship
management.
