Corporate Finance Analyst

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

This role is part of Corporate Finance Sub Function of BAT Zambia.

Reports to Corporate Finance Manager

What You Will Be Accountable For

• Maintain appropriate procedures to ensure that supplier payments are valid, complete, accurate, aligned to agreed terms and made in a timely manner
• Perform comprehensive reviews of all vendor transactions, address exceptions, provide insights for development of efficiencies
• Ensure complete recovery of and accurate accounting for all applicable taxes (VAT, Withholding Tax, and PAYE)
• Driving compliance to governance (Statements of Delegated Authority, procurement policy, approvals frameworks)
• Ensure accurate and timely accounting for staff Travel & Entertainment (T&E) and credit card transactions.
• Provide accounts payable cashflow forecasts to aid liquidity decisions, including robust analysis of actuals versus forecasts
• Maintain appropriate procedures to ensure efficient and effective management of fixed assets and related records are complete and accurate.

Essential Experience, Skills And Knowledge

• Financial or audit background with a professional accountancy qualification (such as CA Zambia / ACCA / CIMA) and a relevant university degree in Accounting.
• 3-5 years of relevant finance / audit experience
• Good understanding of local tax policy, regulation and application in accounting
• Working knowledge of SAP is an added advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage relationships and work with managers across all levels within the company and externally.
• Risk and controls awareness
