Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join the versatile Process Maintenance team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator — Mechanical Maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe efficient operation of the maintenance artisans through the effective utilization of all resources provided.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operation of Mechanical Fitters, Riggers, Boilermakers and Contractors, and equipment in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
  • Manage shift roster, annual leave, and sick leave etc. for fitters and riggers to always ensure coverage.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings for the crew.
  • Review and execute weekly maintenance schedules and ensure priority maintenance activities are prioritized and managed effectively.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed within the function.
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOP’s) as directed by the Maintenance Coordinator. Review maintenance tasks and opportunities for continuous improvement.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum of an Advanced Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mechanical Maintenance of fixed plant equipment.
  • Must be Computer literate with competence in MS excel with exposure to SAP or equivalent.
  • Must have Valid Zambian driving license.
  • Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
  • Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.
