Job Summary:

We are looking for a Cargo Verification Operator to oversee and enhance our commodity inspection operations. This role will lead the verification of the accuracy and integrity of cargos in our warehouse, ensuring they meet our client’s specifications and requirements.

Key Responsibilities and related tasks:

  • Lead the inspection of cargos in the warehouse to confirm compliance with all specified requirements.
  • Oversee the verification of metal quantities and conditions against shipping, storage documents, and entries in the WIRE system.
  • Ensure precise recording and reporting of all findings, managing exceptions as necessary.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with warehouse staff, the broader MMS team, and the IM logistics teams to maintain smooth operations.
  • Identify, address, and report any discrepancies or issues found during the inspection process.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.

  • Attention to Detail – Unwavering accuracy in monitoring all aspects of the cargo inspection process.
  • Good Communicator – Advanced communication skills, capable of leading discussions and collaborations across various teams.
  • English – read, write, speak
  • Data Verification Skills – Expert in validating, recording, and verifying data to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of cargo records.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in cargo inspection, logistics, or related fields, with a focus on metal products.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to solve problems effectively.
  • Independent and proactive, with the capacity to lead a team.
  • Relevant higher-level certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or quality control.
  • Computer literate

Advantageous:

Experience in weighbridge operations, as well as sampling and sample preparation practices within the minerals processing industry, would be advantageous.
