Job Description

Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the operations of the Concentrator with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety and Compliance: Adherence to all safety, health, environmental, and quality standards, as well as compliance with finance, human resources, and other regulations as relevant to the position.
  • Safety Enforcement: Ensure compliance with company safety regulations by all personnel and visitors in the area.
  • Shift Coordination: Participate in daily shift meetings, manage effective shift handovers, and maintain high standards of process plant equipment knowledge.
  • Operational Involvement: Active involvement in shift production, striving for maximum equipment availability, meeting production targets, and standard operation of process equipment.
  • Quality and Communication: Monitor product quality and control, ensure effective communication and collaboration with the Shift Supervisor and the Control Room Operator, and report any deviations in process operations.
  • Maintenance and Housekeeping: Report equipment defects promptly, eliminate downtime by managing equipment startups and shutdowns efficiently, and maintain the plant’s cleanliness and order.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: A minimum of a Grade 12 certificate with credits in English, Mathematics, and/or Science. Additional certification in mineral processing or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience in Concentrator operations or a similar field is required.
