Job Purpose

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

  • Guiding and supervising ward activities and subordinates in the absence of the Nursing Officer.
  • Executing correct written and admission procedure.
  • Conducting observations and routine tests.
  • Providing individual nursing care to all critically ill patients on the ward.
  • Adhering to set medical Standards and Procedures.
  • Giving patients nutritious meals to enhance recovery.
  • Providing comfortable hospital beds and clean linen.
  • Ensuring that ward equipment is in good working condition.
  • Controlling usage of ward stocks i.e. drugs, surgical supplies, stationary, linen, equipment etc.
  • Informing the Nursing Officer/Medical Officer the condition of the patients.
  • Writing and submitting informative and accurate reports on patients
  • Training to improve personal knowledge, skills, attitude and orientation of Subordinates

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in Nursing.
  • Fully registered with Nurses and Midwifery Council of Zambia.
  • Must have been in continuous service for at least two (02) years.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
