Reporting to the Training Coordinator, the Senior Process Trainer will be responsible for assisting the Training Coordinator in the implementation of a comprehensive training program designed to ensure all members of staff are given the tools to ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost-effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

  • Preparation of monthly safety training schedule and notify business partners and internal departments of safety trainings and Mineral Processing Training scheduled.
  • Apply training systems to enable leaders to ensure their employees and contractors are trained and assessed as competent prior to assigning specific tasks.
  • Conduct Mineral Processing Training programs.
  • Review Process & Safety training materials including lesson Plans to ensure they cover the company’s safety and business objectives.
  • Assign resources to ensure ongoing development of training materials to meet all Company, local government and legal requirements.
  • Ensure all personnel within the operations section have been scheduled and notified of training as per their respective training matrixes.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Supervisors and implement a development training schedule for their direct reports.
  • Develop & Communicate to Process Operations Senior Supervisors and Section Supervisors the monthly training plan for their direct reports.
  • Complete Performance evaluations of all Direct Reports and manage their career development.
  • Prepare Month end training for Operations personnel, included attendance and induction compliance, Internal and external training undertaken and cost for the month.
  • Conduct Mineral Processing Training programs.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Diploma in Metallurgy or equivalent
  • In possession of Teaching Methodology Diploma
  • Accredited as Trainer / Assessor is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior training or Supervisory role in a large-scale processing plant
  • Experience in a similar Training role
  • Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Competent in incident/accident investigation
  • Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
  • Experience in managing costs and budgeting.
  • Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems.
