Planning Specialist

The key purpose of this role is to optimise our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure efficient and cost-effective distribution of goods across our network. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and collaboration with various stakeholders to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and inventory levels. As a Supply Network Planner, you will be at the forefront of optimizing our supply chain to meet customer demands efficiently while driving cost savings and operational excellence. Your strategic planning, analytical prowess, and collaborative approach will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of goods across our network. Key Roles And Responsibilities

  • Demand Forecast Alignment: Collaborate with Demand Planner, sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop accurate supply forecast aligned to demand for products across different regions and channels.
  • Inventory Management: Optimize inventory levels by analyzing demand patterns, lead times, and supply constraints. Implement inventory policies and strategies to minimize stock outs while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Supply Planning: Develop supply plans to meet forecasted demand while considering production capacity, supplier capabilities, and lead times. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Network Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize the distribution network to improve service levels, reduce transportation costs, and enhance overall efficiency. Identify opportunities for consolidation, rerouting, or outsourcing to streamline operations.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions such as supplier shortages, transportation delays, or natural disasters. Develop contingency plans to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, service levels, and transportation costs. Analyze data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including supply teams, logistics, and commercial teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, or technology adoption.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, logistics, operations, or related field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain planning, logistics, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in supply chain software and tools such as ERP systems, supply planning software, and optimization tools.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices, industry trends, and regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
