Maamba Collieries Limited (MCL) is Zambia’s biggest Independent Power Producer (IPP) and operates the nation’s only coal-fired Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in Sinazongwe District in Southern Province. The company invests in eco-friendly coal-based power generation and has the capacity to supply 10 percent of the country’s current installed electricity generation capacity. MCL is owned by Nava Bharat Singapore Pte (65%) and ZCCM-IH (35%) and has invested over US$1 billion since 2010.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Finance Manager located in Maamba. The Finance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. The Finance Manager will also be expected to liaise with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
- Accounting, finance, or business-related degree
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a finance management role
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and risk management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Experience in the energy or mining industry is a plus
